Work Ready Activities

The EBeBP have been dedicated to equipping students with work ready skills for over eighteen years. The EBeBP's key education and business partners deemed these skills essential for students to possess when it comes time for them to leave school.

'Work ready skills', in effect, compose the elements of a well-rounded individual who not only has the academic qualifications an employer requires, but also the skills that merit an effective employee.  These include good communication skills, a positive can-do attitude, initiative and a sense of humour.

The EBeBP offer a range of successful, comprehensive services tailored to specifically address work ready skills in students, boosting confidence as well as facilitating experience that students can add to their CVs.

Please see below for the many options we offer to our local schools.

CV Preparation Session

The session covers:

Compiling and writing a CV
Choosing the right format
Updating and tailoring the CV appropriately
Advice and guidance from a local business volunteer

Interview Day

Prior to the Interview Day students are asked to submit a CV, which is sent on to their interviewer in advance.

Business volunteers from a number of industries induct students in a 20-minute interview. This is followed up by a 10-minute feedback session going over the student's CV, as well as his or her performance in the interview.

Skills for Life

Designed specifically to help prepare students for their work experience, Skills for Life is in response to feedback from both our business partners and students. For most students, work experience is their first taste of work, and therefore, they are not sure what to expect, or just as importantly, what is expected of them!

EBeBP staff and business volunteers cover topics such as Health & Safety, Dress for Success, Telephone Skills, Working with People, and Interview Techniques.

This morning workshop takes place prior to block week work experience.
