Employer Engagement

For students, there is nothing quite like receiving the knowledge and advice about the working world from the business volunteers themselves. As a fundamental element to our services the EBeBP invest a considerable amount of time and resources engaging employers to support our work.

We are a member of the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, as well as involved in a number of network groups across East Berkshire. Our attendance at these events offers opportunity to share our work and recruit employers and business volunteers.

According to the students we deliver to, engaging with business volunteers and organisations not only offer informative insight and build students' confidence, but also stimulate and motivate.

In 2011 we have seen a number of new large employers come on board and the EBeBP is working hard to ensure that we maximise the real value of their involvement with the schools.

As it is important to us to provide an excellent but easily accessible service to our schools we continue to search for funding.  Our corporate sponsors' generosity is yet another example of the mutually fulfilling partnerships held by EBeBP. Whether it is donating safety boots to support our work experience students when they go out on placement, or donating prizes for competitions, the employer's contribution is vital to our work.

We estimate that in the last year the EBeBP has raised £4.2 million of business volunteer time into education. This is a significant contribution to our young people and we are grateful for their support. Without our employers the EBeBP could not operate as effectively as it does.
