Competitions & Special Events

The EBeBP offer a range of competitions and special events that combine business and enterprise in engaging and challenging formats.

  • Max the Cash

An annual business and enterprise competition, teams of 6th Form students take an initial £100 stake and turn it into as much as possible through fundraising, donating their hard-earned profits to Thames Hospicecare. The competition's final coincides with Global Entrepreneurship Week. For the last two years Max the Cash has been recognised with an award for High Impact Event.

  • Senior Maths Marathon

An interschool competition for Year 7 students, who must solve mathematical problems posed in three rounds of questions, supplied to the school. Upon completion, each school selects a team of 3 students to represent their school at the final. The final is held on the premises of a local company.

  • Junior Masterchef

Judged by professionals from the catering industry, this culinary challenge involved teams of 3 students planning and preparing a healthy meal for a special occasion. Schools run heats to find their best team to represent them in the final.

  • Eton Technology Challenge

Held at Eton College in their great hall, teams of students from different schools in East Berkshire and Hounslow work alongside one another to bring to life an engineering challenge presented to them.

  • Teen Tech

Science, Engineering and Technology career possibilities are on show for a one-day event to present to students the huge areas of opportunity within the sector. Students have the chance to try their hand at experiments, handle cutting edge technology, and most essentially, meet the engineers, technicians and scientists behind it all!
